Bookings double to Marsa Alam and Hurghada in Egypt in June

The surge in German bookings for Egypt continued last month with three-digit growth for Hurghada and Marsa Alam, according to new figures. Antalya showed nearly 20% growth as last-minute Turkey sales picked up.

The main Egyptian destination airport of Hurghada and the southern Red Sea resort of Marsa Alam were the big winners on the German package holiday market last month, figures from leading reservations provider Traveltainment showed. Bookings to Hurghada were up by 112%, following on from a 102% rise in May. Marsa Alam soared by 129%, and entered the top ten destination airports ranking.
